The linear slide potentiometer is a common potentiometer in carbon film potentiometer, mainly by sliding rod on the carbon film to change the resistance. Because of the simple process, the straight-sliding carbon film potentiometer is also one of the potentiometers widely used at present. Its resistor is made by coating the ground carbon film, graphite, quartz and other materials on the surface of the substrate. Relatively speaking, the straight-sliding carbon film potentiometer is not only more convenient to adjust, but also has a longer life and a higher resolution phase. For higher wear resistance, it is also relatively good.

Attention should be paid to the following items when using linear slide potentiometer.

1. The resistors of potentiometers are mostly made of synthetic resins of polycarbonates. They should avoid contact with the following items: ammonia, other amines, alkaline aqueous solution, aromatic hydrocarbons, ketones, hydrocarbons of lipids, strong chemicals (high acid-base value), etc. Otherwise, their properties will be affected.

2. The terminal of 10k linear slide potentiometer should avoid the use of water-capacitive flux when welding, otherwise it will promote metal oxidation and moldy materials; avoid the use of inferior flux, poor soldering may cause difficulty in tin, lead to poor contact or circuit breakage.

3. The terminal of linear slide potentiometer may be damaged if the welding temperature is too high or the welding time is too long. The pin terminal should be welded at 235 + 5, 3 seconds, 1.5 MM or more from the potentiometer body, not using solder flowing through circuit boards; the wire terminal should be welded at 350 + 10, 3 seconds. And the terminal should avoid heavy pressure, otherwise easy to cause bad contact.

4. When welding, rosin (flux) enters the printing board height adjustment is appropriate, should avoid flux intrusion potentiometer inside, otherwise will cause brush and resistor contact bad, produce INT, noise bad phenomenon.

5. Potentiometer is used in voltage adjustment structure, and the connection mode should choose "1" foot grounding; should avoid the use of current adjustment structure, because the contact resistance between resistance and contact sheet is not conducive to the passage of large current.

6. Potentiometer surface should avoid condensation or the existence of water droplets, avoid the use of damp places to prevent insulation deterioration or short circuit. If you need a potentiometer in a special environment, please specify so as to arrange production.

7. When installing the "rotary" potentiometer to fix the nut, the strength should not be too tight, so as to avoid destroying the screw teeth or malrotation, and even directly damage the potentiometer itself.

8. In the process of the knob on the potentiometer sleeve, the thrust should not be too large (not exceed the parameters of the thrust and pull force of the shaft in the Specification), otherwise it may cause damage to the 10k linear slide potentiometer.

9. The rotary operating force (rotation or sliding) of the potentiometer will become lighter with the increase of temperature and tighter with the decrease of temperature. If the potentiometer is used in low temperature, it is necessary to explain the special low temperature special grease.

10. the design of the shaft or slide handle of 10k linear slide potentiometer should be as short as possible. The shorter the length of the shaft or sliding handle, the better and stable hand feel. Conversely, the longer the shaking is, the easier the handle will change.

11. The power of the potentiometer carbon film can withstand the ambient temperature of 70 C. When the temperature is higher than 70, it may lose its power.
