Definition of precision potentiometer
Precision potentiometer is also called
adjustable power resistor. It is a variable resistor which can adjust its own resistance with higher precision. There are two forms: pointer and pointer. The number of circles in regulation is 5 and 10 circles, two. The

Characteristics of precision potentiometers

2. Solid precision potentiometer: It is made of quartz powder, graphite, carbon black, organic binder and other materials mixed and heated, pressed on the plastic substrate, and then heated and polymerized. Advantages: wide resistance planning, good wear resistance, high resolution, high reliability, small size; defects: noise, poor high temperature resistance. Solid precision potentiometer can be divided into logarithmic solid precision potentiometer, linear solid precision potentiometer, small solid precision potentiometer.
3. Carbon film precision potentiometer is one of the most sophisticated potentiometers used in the time. Its resistor is a mixture of quartz powder, carbon black, graphite, organic binder, etc., coated on bakelite board or fiberglass board. Advantages: high resolution, wide resistance planning; defects: large sliding noise, poor heat and moisture resistance. Carbon film fine potentiometers consist of straight slip carbon film precision potentiometers, common carbon film fine potentiometers, small carbon film precision potentiometers with switches, double off-axis non-switching/with-switching precision potentiometers, single-band switch/without-switching precision potentiometers, double coaxial non-switching/with-switching fine potentiometers. 4. Single-loop precision potentiometer and multi-loopprecision potentiometer: the sliding arm of single-loop precision potentiometer can only rotate within the planning of less than 3600, generally used for volume control. With each turn of the rotating shaft of multi-loop fine potentiometer, the contact of sliding arm only changes a small distance on the resistor body, and the sliding arm moves from one pole to another. When the pole is located, the demand of the shaft is changed several times.
5. Double precision potentiometer and single precision potentiometer: Double precision potentiometer is usually the same standard two fine potentiometers installed on the same shaft, the regulation of the shaft, the two precision potentiometers sliding contact changes synchronously. Some of the double precision potentiometers are asynchronous; the single precision potentiometer is a set of

6. Wire-wound precisione potentiometer: Its resistor is made of wire wound on a non-metallic plate or metal coated with insulation materials. Advantages are: high accuracy, low noise, high power and good stability; the defect is: high frequency characteristics are poor. Wire-wound precision potentiometers are also divided into straight-slip fine multi-loop wire-wound precision potentiometers, general wire-wound precision potentiometers, precision multi-loop wire-wound precision potentiometers, general multi-loop wire-wound precision potentiometers, functional precision multi-loop wire-wound precision potentiometers and so on.
7. Metal Film precision Potentiometer:
adjustable power resistor is made of metal composite film, metal oxide film, metal alloy film, tantalum oxide film data at the beginning and end of the vacuum technology stacked on the ceramic substrate. Advantages: high resolution, slip noise is smaller than the carbon film precision potentiometer; defects: poor wear resistance, resistance planning is small.
